we haven’t taken many pictures of anything in a long time, and we only video tape birthdays. This is partly because film and development are so expensive; we’ve recently been gradually finally developing rolls of film we’ve had around the house for years. For several years we didn’t have a video camera at all, I guess we got used to that so when we got another one we were out of the habit of using it. Also I think people should take pictures of what’s really going on, instead of posed pictures of people smiling at the camera. The point of taking pictures is to save memories of things that you’re doing, so why don’t people take pictures of each other doing those things? I’m not saying we should never smile for the camera, just that we should take more pictures of real life, of people doing things other than smiling at cameras.
