I don’t care if I have no control over it, it’s important.. so it’s going on the list.
Perhaps my boyfriend will stumble across it and badabing, badaboom.

... I was serenaded with the song Barbie girl by four wonderful boys.
Definite highlight of my night.

I guess I will have to inspire someone to serenade me. I’m actually a hopeless romantic. I need to stay away from scorpios!
A woman I’m interested in asked if I liked romantic women and I said yes. I told her that I had always wanted to be serenaded by a mariachi or a conjunto singing gorgeous romantic songs in Spanish. I had hoped that this would happen under the moonlight while I/we stood on a balcony. She kind of stuttered her disapproval or objections, I don’t know which, so I dropped it.
Cut to the next night when we’re hanging out in her apartment which happens to have a balcony. It overlooks the beach and the parking lot of some sort of night spot. I kept hearing a trumpet play but didn’t think anything of it until a mariachi struck up “Cielito Lindo” in the parking lot for a trio of drunk, dancing couples. She hadn’t done anything. It was just a weird coincidence. We stood out on the balcony and laughed our asses off.
I think it’s the universe telling me that that’s the best for which I can hope. At least, it is in this situation. :)
On one of our first dates, my ex played the piano for me, insisting I lie down on the couch with my eyes closed. He said he’d always wanted to do it..
It was sweet, but in my opinion there are much nicer things a guy can do to show he cares about you. I guess it just depends on you.. I wasn’t all that appreciative of it.

In college the fraternity guys used to go around campus serenading women. I wasn’t into the whole Greek scene, but my roomie had a boyfriend who was a pledge. They sang to Jill and then left… and later, I heard Alan below our window with a bunch of the guys, singing specifically for me. It was so cool. Alan was thoughtful enough to come back, didn’t want me to feel left out.
Later I lived in a dorm across from the pharmacy fraternity. The guys over there used to have flash light dances with me. Meaning we would, for no real reason, take out flash lights and make them dance across each other’s rooms.
My roommate, Maria, who had lived there for a whole semester never having flashlight dances said, “Look what happens when you move in, Julie.”
I have recently been serenaded directly from mouth to ear. Very sacred.
I had almost forgotten it has a name.

Isn’t being serenaded something that is done to you rather than something that you have done? I mean, if we can include things we want done to us, we could go in an entirely new direction with 43 things…
I have a corny yearning for my boyfriend to play the guitar and sing to me…I know it probably sounds silly, but I just think it’d be so sweet…he doesn’t seem to comply ;)
This guy hired a barbershop quartet to sing a song for my birthday…...ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE!!!!!! I just saw it as completely desparate. Sorry.
