I want to make music for my favorite music genres: electronic and hip hop music.
How I did it: • Write something even if it's short everyday
• Find musicians to play stuff for you
• Listen to all kinds of music for how they wrote it rather than for pure enjoyment
• Read about composing
• Find a mentor
• Tell your friends and acquaintances that you're composing
Lessons & tips: • Write everyday whenever possible
• Learning an instrument can help
• Don't worry about whether it's good
• Don't be stopped if someone says it isn't good!
Resources: • College music school
• Mentor/teachers
• An acoustic piano
• Finale software
• Music paper and a good soft pencil

Flycello is having a wonderful year!
The last time I actually composed anything it was for a grade in my Composition class (imagine that) in college. I feel like I should give it a go and see what I can do when I’m not being graded.
A friend of mine from college once gave me the best advice about composing. He was a comp major and I was complaining about the one comp class I had to get through for my degree. I said “I’m no good at composing” and he asked me “well, how often do you compose?” I told him not often and he said “I’m no good at the cello [my primary instrument], but if I practiced I could get better. You’ve got to practice at composition too.”
Smart guy, and one of the best composers I’ve ever met.
I’ve been giving this a go in my free time recently. It was pretty daunting getting started, but I actually surprised myself by what I could achieve. I’m finding it really engerising.

This has just always seemed like it would be enjoyable for me, and I’m always having random snatches of music appear in my head – I want to be able to put them on paper.
I can already read music fairly well (although I can’t really play an instrument), so I suppose I just need to be able to recognize the notes in my head. Harder than it sounds, yeah.
I want to create a unique style of music the uses odd time signatures, syncopated rhythm, and extensive use of the tremolo bar on the electric guitar along with a slew of electronic enhancements. I also want to experiment with the idea of using an electric cello in substitute of an electric bass guitar along with more oddly timed and dynamic vocal expression…
Seloa is sort of through the top of her list... just how to go about closing
It’s not something I feel a desire to pursue but I had a music theory class. and that was the final assignment. Really it was an arrangement. perhaps something more original.
Ken W is trying to lead a more serene life in an agitated world.
I would also like to compose a flute solo piece, probably with piano or harp accompaniment.
(version-1)
When i’m down and no one there beside me
Lord you always there for me
you sheltred me from storm
i’s so glad that you came into my life
and i’ll never be aone again
cause you besides me
lord i want to worship you
i gave my heart and all that that i am
(chorus)
Thank you lord, for saving my life
thank you lord,makin me whole
thank you,thank you lord
thank you, for lovin me
(Repeat Twice)
(Verse-2)
you gave me light when i’m in the dark
which gives my heart delight
and me your light be my guide
knowing you’ll lead me through, the way
and you give me strenght and hope
lord i praisse your name on amountian high
(Repeat Chorus twice)
