build my Home wireless network system

Our house is wired for ethernet in every room. But the laptops are so convenient when untethered – so I added an access point. It works quite nicely.

I also gave it a name that wasn’t the default and wasn’t our home address (one neighbor did that – case the joint by war driving!) Yep, it’s security enabled, too.

i bought myself a netgear wireless router off eBay. It was an interesting deal…I bought the thing on eBay and then came to know that the person selling it was working in the next building!!!

i couldnt use the router for a month as i was staying on the hotel. but then our hotel started wireless internet access and we decided to share the connection. we used the router continously for half a month…we lost the count of movies and things we downloaded over the faster broadband we ever used…

now back to my home, the router is in place after my cable modem. its working great!!!

I am trying to connect my daughter’s computer to my wife’s computer. My wife’s computer is already on the internet and if I can get my daughter’s computer to talk to the wireless router then she can get on the internet also.
