I think this goal might be better worded as eat less junk food and processed foods as this is where the high fructose corn syrup garbage tends to find its way into all sorts of things that you would never suspect. Like would you believe that high fructose corn syrup is in some brands of red wine vinaigrette salad dressing.

Despite the fact of how common corn syrup junk is turning up in lots of different foods I am finding this easier than I expected. As even though corn syrup is in a lot of processed foods, the good news is that most of the foods that it is found inside are also ones that are best to avoid anyway as part of a healthy lifestyle which includes striving toward weight loss.

Since I’ve started this goal I’ve been limiting my jam intake to either homemade or store bought ones that do not have corn syrup which also are not made in the USA. I’ve been reading labels a lot more in the grocery store and I’m amazed at how every jar of jam that is made in the USA is filled with the corn syrup junk but if it was made in France or Switzerland it is made with sugar. Yes I know that jam is loaded with sugar which does not combine well with weight loss but given that I do normally do not drink any soda and I always have real maple syrup on pancakes when I have them it probably contributes to most of my corn syrup intake.
