I got a trout stamp, I’m fishing on the root river, catching fish. Still much more to learn, but I’m considering this a successful conclusion. Thanks, internets, for giving me knowledge.

Caught a 3 lb large mouth bass off the dock yesterday. Figured out how to correctly spool my open reel and cast off into the reeds with a jig.

Still trying to get the line on my new reel. It keeps unspooling. Its got a serious twist that I haven’t been able to undo yet. I fished with a cheap closed reel setup yesterday, didn’t catch a thing.

Just bought a rod and reel. Need to rig a spool and put the line on the reel and I’m ready to fish for bluegill. Its a start.

The river why 11 months ago

First off read the book “The River Why” It’ll help you understand the allure fishing has :) its also my favorite book.

Fishing is my brigadoon. There is no feeling better than the feel you get when you are standing on the side of a lake or river knowing that 99.9% of the population will never ever witness the view. Of course you don’t have to hike to neverland to fish. You can do it in the pond down the street.

I always have a fishing pole in my car just in case i drive by a puddle that looks like there is fish. Ever since i was little fishing was a way for me to escape the world. peace and quite just you the water and the fish.

if anyone ever wants to go fishing and lives in washington send me a message. i will gladly take you out.

OMG, will someone just teach me how to fish damn it. I’ve wanted to know for so long. My dad used to take me out in our boat when I was little and we would go salmon and bass fishing but that was LONG ago and he’s not able to fish anymore. I think I’m just going to have to teach myself.

Did it for my boy 3 years ago

I learned to fish and took my boy out on a boat and fished with him all day. He had a blast and so did I. The fish were tasty too!

The benefits of fishing 3 years ago

Fishing can be several things: relaxing, exciting or social.
Sometimes it’s just you, the sun and a light breeze and it relaxes you and allows you to forget about the everyday worries, rcharging your mental batteries.
Sometimes the fish are hitting and hitting hard (like if you use a fishing lure that runs on the surface of the water and you can actually see the fish hit it), you feel an adrenaline rush when you set the hook and it’s awesome.
Sometimes you’re just out with friends, talking smack and having a great time, combined with catching fish and relaxing.
I’ve done it since I was a kid and am still enjoying it. Give it a shot! Feel free to ask questions and release your fish after catching them in order to preserve the future of this sport. Don’t fall or the lures on the TV ads, your local sports store has what you need. Thanks.

It never hurts to have another skill, and fishing is rather relaxing. Plus, it is kind of fun when you catch the biggest fish, or the most fish.
