We had a family BBQ last weekend (well, on Monday, as it was a long weekend), and my mum mentioned that she is planning on organising a family get together at least once a month. Hopefully this will help me reach my goal! Thanks mum!
Well, did the family thing yesterday. It’s just weird….don’t know about this goal….that’s pretty sad, but I always feel very detached from everyone and I have for a long long time so I guess I’ve grown used to it.
I’m comfortable only talking about work with my father. With no other dialouge, no “how are you? what have you been up to?” I noticed today that the eye contact is non-existent between us…o bother…I’ve tried to reconcile with him and there’s only so much I can do. Decided I should just move on…bye bye goal
i could do like a “Pieces of April” thing and get my bf to come, have a dinner and try to bring us all together…by my own efforts (that would be a first)...
Anyone saw the movie “Pieces of April”? I really liked it, she reminded me of me.
Well, I didn’t have the most happy childhood but I’d really like to get closer to my sister and my parents. I would really like for them to get to know me better. I would really like to build good memories.
I see our relationships between each other very surface and not at all on an unconditionally accepting level. My mother, excluded. She loves me no matter what. And I really need to call her everyday and let her know I appreciate that. Same with her mother (my grandmother) – she is also a very loving soul.
Just prior to Memorial Day, my boyfriend Mickey and I drove to Kentucky to bring my daughter Eva back home to NOLA. We spent Memorial Day Weekend with my sister Tiffany, and her family at the home of our cousin Clarissa and her family. It was a wonderful time. We put up tents for the children in the back yard. We grilled dinner,ate lots of snacks and went to Beech Bend Park.
It is a 10 hour drive from NOLA to south central KY so we don’t visit as often as we should. It is our plan to make this trip at least 3 times a year so the children can grow up knowing thier cousins.
I can’t speak for the others but I know my family, including the dog, had an amazing time. We can’t wait till fall when we have the chance to do it again.
