    I also replaced the balance ball my roommates dumb ass kat popped…grrrr

    anyway,

    I went for a nice long walk around my neighborhood, I realized the reason I don’t run is because I am ashamed of how I might look. Sad I know, I, the greatest advocate of ‘who cares what others think of me’ is worried about how dumb the fat chick running in the neighborhood will look.

    Perhaps it stems back to my days middle school…that was the last time I ran any. And I’ve always been the fat chick, so you can imagine. Kids are awful, just horrible, its a shame we all have to be kids at some point because they are so awful…

    anyway, I walked and jogged a bit for about 30 min. I can work my way up to 40 and then maybe get all the way up to an hour. Right now I have all the time in the world since I’m not working, so working out is pretty much all I have to do.

    I ran into a good friend yesterday, She’s pushing 50, and has a body that is harder than rock. I figured, if she can be that hot at 50, surly I can lose this weight and gain a similar body at 30? Its just a bit of self discipline and get up and go…

    I’ve also been wanting to run for a while, and so I asked her what she did to get such awesome abs, and she said an hour of cardio in the morning and then about 30 min of weights in the afternoon, including crunches and reverse crunches using a 20lb weight. I may not be up tot he 20lbs just yet, but I know I am going to work up to it.

    So I guess this was a long way of saying, after I have my milk and banana, I’m going for a run, mu very first ever…I’ll let you know how it goes when I get back.

    Walking Desks 6 months ago

    I heard about this on the Splendid Table on NPR last Sunday. apparently there is a dude out there who has attached a desk to a treadmill so that he can walk and work at the same time. its a pretty cool idea if you really think about it. He sets it at the lowest setting he can and then just walks all day. So I thought, why not?

    I’m house sitting today, so I took my lap top and set it up on the tread mill, I even have a TV. I set it to about 1.6 miles per hour and put it on a 1% incline, that seems to be the most comfortable for me. SO far I’ve been on it for about an hour now and its not really causing me any problems. I can type and do all my internet shit, hell I could even talk on the phone,m its not that fast. And according to my read out I’ve burned 250 some calories. I give this two thumbs up, I’m gonna miss it when I go back to my home. I wonder if I can set my Nordic track glider up to do the same thing I am doing now.

    Learing new tricks with my Universal machine and Ball 7 months ago

    Saw a commercial for the new bow-flex dohicky, and I thought, I bet I could do most of that with the Universal, and what do you know, I can! So I spent the day playing around with it. Also, saw some new tricks for the old blow up ball, and yah, played with that too. All in all a nice sweaty work out.

    I need to learn to meditate, and work on mental relaxation. I spend way too much time zoned out in front of the computer.

    Also! Found a cool new cooker thing! Its a solar-cooker you make out of cardboard and tinfoil. I am excited about trying it. Once I get the basic idea down I’m gonna make a bigger one out of wood and aluminum.

    Slow, steady work 7 months ago

    I’ve gotten five pounds off in about two weeks, that’s pretty good. I just need to be more diligent about getting up in the morning and working out and then again in the afternoon. Then it bet it would just melt off.

    12 week challenge 8 months ago

    I started this this week. So far so good. Though, I feel like I am eating all day…perhaps I will cut out a few of the meals, since I’m not hungry when it comes time to snack.
