-Full name & D.O.B.
-Parents’ full name
-Indicate your choice of full form ($10) or wallet size ($5) birth certificate
2. Photocopy of valid ID
3. Include money order made to the “Town Clerk”
4. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for return

My parents went through the EXACT SAME PROCESS as I and are currently stumped as to what avenue we should pursue…. This stays on my list until we discuss further. She we just ASK Gran what she’d like?

The Texas Dept of Health was unable to locate Gran’s birth certificate. This hurts. I have a sinking feeling in my chest…. They presented to option to have one created for a small fee. It’s not authentic. Should I have it made?

8/12: well, fannin county courthouse sent a letter… they searched the birth records, yet did not find Gran’s… they sent a form for me to try TX Dept of Health… I will mail it in the AM…

8/6: ... Went to the country & visited my grandparents last month. Gran expressed that she wanted a copy of her birth certificate…She was born a little Black Girl in Honey Grove, Texas in 1923… I wonder if I will find it???
8/8: Spoke with the County Clerk of Fannin County today. Records date back to 1903, so there is luck yet! I mailed the request off today!
