might make a new years resolution, no dairy
How I did it: I get bored with food, theres only so many things one can do with ......so. I checked out some books. The ones with pictures really help, to get the taste buds going and find some inspiration. And I visited the asian markets and alt. stores for ingred. cooking got more exciting. I might do vegan for a while. Have never done vegan, just cooked it for guests. May do a cleansing while Im at it.

might make a new years resolution, no dairy
I did this about five years ago, when my then-girlfriend (now wife), who had been a vegetarian and then quit, had decided to try it again, so I decided that for a week I could also give it a shot.
I knew that it would be difficult for me, but the first day or so wasn’t bad at all, and they day that I actually ate vegan went quite well. But by the end of the week, it was starting to wear on me a bit. My choice of foods might’ve been somewhat limited since I didn’t know any better, and I think that made it harder than it needed to be. But it gave me good perspective on what my wife was going through at that point.
She has since given up vegetarianism again, but neither one of us has any qualms about the occasional vegetarian meal these days, either.
I’m a dedicated meat lover, I really am, but eating veggie? Really not hard! You just have to love food, good food. Roasted squash, spicy lentil soup, braised red cabbage, green beans in mustard, puy lentils with goats cheese. Winter’s the best time, because you can make so much hearty cheap stuff, and not feel deprived and salady!!!
I would love to be a vegetarian, but apparently I get anemic very easily. So when I tried to go vegetarian for a week, I got really sick. It was bad. I don’t like the idea of eating meat but iron supplements cause problems with digestion for me, and beans and nuts don’t have iron so…I guess I’m stuck with meat. Loveleh.
yakuza who has missed me?
I consider it kind of a cleansing ritual. I always lose weight when I do it too, which isn’t a bad thing. I do feel healthier too, and sometimes it can be difficult, but I just decide that when I’m going to do this, I don’t go out to eat since I’ll almost always get meat when I go out to eat.
I don’t quite know why, but for the past week, I’ve had this incredible craving for Salad, and little else. I’ve eaten salad for the past three days for lunch, and had it for dinner twice.
These are pretty stripped-down salads, too. They’re just composed of crunchy green things without any chicken or ham or anything like that.
I like this involuntary healthy eating stuff, although there’s supposed to be French Onion Soup in the cafe today.
Nummy.
