Help save a life. You don’t have to do it by giving up your own
How I did it: I went online to blackle.com and searched for "organ donor." Up popped organdonor.gov and from there I registered as a proud Californian organ donor.
Lessons & tips: It's a big decision. Talk to your family about it first. But remember that in the end, it's your body to do with what you will. You make your own decisions, even in death. For those minors however, that isn't true, sadly enough. Yes, depending on where you live, you may register. But if you die before you come of legal age your parents will have the final decision as to what becomes of your organs. So talk to them before you register. You never know what will happen, and you don't want them to be put off with that decision to be made as well.
Resources: I'd like to think that I can make a difference in someone else's life. Besides, after I die I'm not going to be using these things anyway, so what does it matter if I give them away?
