Well, it is worth it indeed. I’ve found that finding different videos and instructions help out. Also, once you learn it, do it once a week for the first month at least, then at least once every other month to keep it fresh in your mind.
Though it’s easier to learn the second time, forgetting how to do it is still a pain in the neck.
Sadly, There’s not too many occasions to wear a bow-tie, especially if you have a girlfriend like mine who hates bow ties.

Haha, that was so good. I took another stab at it today, and I finally understood! It’s actually really easy once you know how. I never understood where the other end was supposed to go, but now, I truly feel that it’s Danny 1, bowtie 0.

The secret for me was NOT looking in the mirror while tying it.

952 Is tired, and content.
Try it on your leg, for practice. It is just like the knot you should tie your shoes with…. A square knot, with loops instead of a full knot. Get it? Practice a little and you will. Get the knot first, and then try to make it pretty(it’s not perfect, it’s hand tied). This one is definitely worth it!

Muriel is realizing her life circumstances.
I don’t know anyone who knows how to tie a bow-tie, even my fiance and father are clueless. All the step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and videos didn’t help me. I learned by trying it over and over again.
Then something clicked.
There is that one hurdle where they tell you to push the last bow thru a loop – once you know what they’re talking about, it’s easy-shmeezie.

Niel is figuring out if he likes what he's doing.
It’s not really hard to do it, but it is a thing that does need practice, and after a while it becomes natural. Don’t try to do it the first time while dressing for the evening, practice beforehand. Start your practice tying it around your leg, just above the knee. If you buy a new bow tie it comes with instructions. You can also find istructions on the web, just ask Google. Here’s one: http://www.bowtie.com/tying.html
While not a robust as a bow tie on elastic, it does earn you some credit points from the snobs who sneer at practicality. I’m also told that an untied bowtie hanging around the neck is fairly sexy.
