i’ve been going to diriamba, nicaragua for at least a week for the past fourd years. when i first went i asked to drive through the dump in managua. i was overwhelemed by what i saw there. i knew that GOD wanted me to do something about it but i had no idea what. i decided the first step was to get other people involved in going to the dump and praying over it.
recently we’ve started a feeding program within the dump (feeding monday through friday). this is a band-aide solution that at least feeds the kids while our church and others who are interested work through how to help make more substantial changes.
i just spent a week in diriamba helping feed the kids and getting to know the shanty town in which they live better. on the way to diriamba i met a guy who works with agros international i believe some of what they are doing and micro-loans may be the way to go within the dump.
