Though the first 3 were during college, which isn’t the same as making a life in NYC. I think it is something everyone should try, even for a few months. There is nowhere in the USA like this city, and it opens people’s eyes to things that you can’t see in other places. The diversity alone will change your point of view on how the world can be.

There is some struggle involved, you probably won’t have a backyard , or a dishwasher or washing machine. You will have to get used to public transportation, and dealing with strangers on a regular basis. This is a good time to come, because the economy is bouncing back (finally) so there is work now.

i have always dreamed of pounding the pavement in the concrete jungle that is new york. i don’t look forward to all of the sharp elbows, but i am quite excited to explore this cultural center. 8 years ago
