dishes is detailing the rest of his European vacation.
while i was in spain, i visited at least 7-10 different castles including the one that walt disney used in his movie…uh…i think snow white. yeah thats the one. well come to think of it, i think some of those were just cathedrals, hmm…anyway, at one of the castles there were a lot of orange trees so one of my friends decided to get one, and at the same time a security guard was telling him to stop but i was the one that knew spanish. it turned out that the trees were real but all of the fruit were fake! another thing that happened was that another one of my friends dropped his $150 camera from the steeple by accident. yikes!

Any castle, anywhere. Just wander it and feel the ghosts, the history, the noblity.

If you live in the US and think that there are only castles in Europe, think again. There are castles all over the US if you can’t afford to go overseas and want to visit one. Here’s a list of castles, I’ve been to some of them. They are amazing inside. http://www.dupontcastle.com/castles/

Castles let you imagine other peoples lives. I’ve visited fancy, ornate ones like Neuschwanstein, but I really like the ones that are in ruins. (There is one you can hike up to near Neuschwanstein, near Fussen.) The ruined ones are free and have few visitors (especially if you have to hike to them.) God bless your journeys.

One was Neuschwanstein (sp?) that the Disney “castle” is based on. Talk about ornate! Every last detail was addressed. It’s fascinating and practically ugly in the overdecorated parts. But there are definitely some pieces I would have liked to bring home with me. We saw one other of Crazy Ludwig’s castles but I don’t remember the name of that one. I think one of the youth hostels we slept in was also a “castle” but the fortress type that’s fairly plain.
