In the past when I’ve succeeded at telling myself or writing positive affirmations this has lasted for about a day, and it’s like I’ve completely forgotten the next.
this past week I have picked this up again, because I think it will be helpful for me overall—a form of ‘talking back to myself’ helped lessen negative thinking, so more CBT it is.
And this time I am trying to do the part where I look myself in the eye in the mirror while I do this, which used to be impossible to incredibly difficult, but is now gradually getting better.

I only need to focus on one thing at a time. While I keep an over all perspect and sense of how I want my life to flow, I structure my days so that I can sink in an be present with myself and whatever I’m working with/on at that particular point in time. 19 months ago

How I did it: For many years I was plagued by negative thinking and incessant hidden self abusive inner dialogues. Many of these beliefs and thought patterns were put upon me by my early years, by the culture & society, and through intergenerational patterns and habits that played out inside me.
Through the process of meditation, self-awareness through reflection and self-exploration and searching I became aware of my Self and sought out ways to become more authentic and healthy & to be freed by my own negative thoughts & habits.
I believe the process to becoming our Best Self is a journey ~ finding balance ~ ♥ life is an interweaving of continuity and change ~ we are able to choose well ♥
Part of 'choosing well' is choosing our words wisely.
