The map is not the territory 5 months ago

Went on a 2 day introductory course to see if its something I could work with.

It turned out to be one of the best, most interesting courses I have been on.

I am going to work through what I have learnt so it comes naturally!

I am very interested in completing the Practioners Course over this autumn.

All good things – I can see how its a powerful tool when dealing with such things as self esteem. I really like how one of the key concepts is about how everyone has the resources within themselves to change, one phrase that stuck with me was.
If You Always Do What You Have Always Done….
You’ll Always Get What You Always Got!

Advanced Practitioner Certification Training:

In the Advanced Practitioner Certification Training (APCT) Course we teach the basic concepts, skills, patterns and techniques required for certification by the Society of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. The course follows a carefully planned sequence designed to ensure that you systematically acquire and integrate the required skills and information.

Course Synopsis:

The Advanced Practitioner Certification Training Course is an intense and highly rewarding six-month course of instruction. Classes are conducted one weekend per month. Friday evening classes meet from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday classes meet from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (some of the weekends have a Saturday evening activity that lasts until 10:00 p.m.). Sunday classes meet from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A brief description of the course content for each weekend follows.

APCT Weekend One:
(April 17-19, 2009)
APCT Weekend One is about getting acquainted with your classmates, laying the course ground rules, and building the foundation for following weekends. The weekend includes team building and trust exercises. We cover the presuppositions at the heart of the NLP belief system. You will learn to identify and install resourceful states of mind for use in future exercises. And you will learn the importance of developing the Well Formed Outcomes necessary to achieve your goals.

APCT Weekend Two:
(May 15-17, 2009)
APCT Weekend Two is about understanding how language affects your thoughts, perceptions and behaviors. You will learn about the Meta Model and the Seven Categories of Experience. You will learn to use the Visual Squash and the New Behavior Generator techniques. And building on weekend one, you will learn how to create a compelling future using Well Formed Outcomes. We round out this weekend by introducing you to Advanced Change techniques.

APCT Weekend Three:
(June 19-21, 2009)
APCT Weekend Three is about changing your Belief Systems and expanding your personal power. During this weekend we cover the process of eliciting and installing specific strategies for desired behaviors. You will learn the important and very powerful technique of Reframing. And, you will learn how to discover and remove the limiting beliefs and failure loops that hold you back.

APCT Weekend Four:
(July 17-19, 2009)
APCT Weekend Four is about attracting money into your life. A lack of financial resources is often the result of limiting beliefs about money. So, this weekend is devoted to helping you understand and change whatever limiting beliefs you may have regarding money. You will learn how to use Submodalities, the Swish Pattern, and Time Line Therapy TM to bring about significant belief changes. Dramatic breakthroughs are often experienced using these three techniques.

APCT Weekend Five:
(August 21-23, 2009)
APCT Weekend Five is about creating your Five-Year Success Plan. During this weekend we examine alternative belief systems that have proven to be successful over time. You will learn some new and powerful change work techniques. You will create your five-year success plan and learn the important process of future pacing. We also cover Psycho-Immunology and you will learn how to use NLP techniques to effectively deal with mental, physical, and emotional health issues.

APCT Weekend Six:
(September 18-20, 2009)
APCT Weekend Six is about pulling it all together. We review the numerous change work techniques covered during the previous months. One day of the weekend is spent at a ROPES course. The activities on this day are designed to challenge you and your teammates to use everything you have learned to help each other move beyond personal limitations. Participation in the physical activities of the ROPES course is voluntary. The final “exams” this weekend present you with an opportunity to demonstrate to yourself and others how much you have learned.

And then the final level …

MASTER PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATION TRAINING
(five 3-day weekends scheduled approximately three months apart)
The weekends may be taken individually.
Each weekend begins Friday at 1 pm and ends at 10 pm,
It continues Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 am and ending at 6 pm each day.

I’ve written one entry on this and it’s about possibly giving this up.

I decided that I’m more drawn to The Law Of Attraction; Success Spells; Intentionalism…

Time to let this one go..

Not sure if I’m still interested in mastering this. I’m reading a book now called The Power of Story, which I’m REALLY enjoying. Thing I might pursue this angle.

I'm attending a training course in London 19 months ago

This year I’ve been attending a 24-day NLP Practitioner course in London. I’ve completed 13 days so far and I’ve really been enjoying it.

We have covered Foundation Skills (7 days), The Magic of Language (3 days) and Generative Collaboration (3 days). The latter was a guest module about teamwork by well known NLP developer Robert Dilts.

The remainder of the course entails: The States of Excellence (4 days), The Power of Practitioner (4 days) and Coaching with NLP (3 days) by guest presenter Joseph O’Conner.

Before the remainder of the course I’m attending a 1 day NLP conference.

I will update what I think have been my key learns at some later date.
