I know I have a mind full of crazy Character’s for Books & merchandise, but I’ve always put it on the back burner, always too busy with work and other stuff… This list will hopefully inspire me to get off my butt and draw :)

I have an idea for one so maybe I’ll actually write and illustrate it.
jess43ssej is CHUFFED!
I work part-time in a cafe, just while I’m at college. My boss is planning on writing a book of recipes and anecdotes, and he wants me to illustrate it.
This has been an ambition of mine for ages, and even though I’m not being paid for it, I am really looking forward to getting started. It will be great experience for me and it will look great in my portfolio.
I did this for an Arts in Education class when I was in my Master’s year. Totally an enjoyable, cathartic, and creative experience. The assignment was to illustrate a Raffi song in book form. Not being one to love Raffi TOO much (altho I do love a good bananaphone song now and then), I chose Raffi’s rendition of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine. It’s just the first verse, but I’m thinking about completing the second and seeing how “publishing” for such a thing could go. Never know…right?
Enjoy all of the illustrating that goes on.
... I don’t mean I want to illustrate a book and actually get my illustrations published. I’d much rather just do it for myself. I’ve tried illustrating Peter Pan (one of my all-time favourite stories) but whatever I draw never seems good enough for me. So I just doodle along when I read a book and some character strikes me as interesting.
It’s fun. I only hope, one day I’ll really get a whole book done, if only to save the drawings/paintings and show to my kids one day.
Currently writing a beginning reader and making a few accompanying illustrations. It’s good to have school projects that I actually like. The illustrations are in acrylic on huge pieces of corrugated cardboard. WOO!
I’ve got a meeting with a publishing company this next week about doing work as an illustrator! Yay
That’s on the menu for today. I wrote a little prosey poem, and I need a few quality drawings of hands to accompany the story.
I love illustrated books so much. And I write. I’d like to draw some things to accompany what I’ve written.
