I think this would be very funn and a great way to make money if you love to shop and eat out resturant and I love to do both.

I just signed up to be a mystery shopper at ICC Decision Services I heard mystery shopping is a great way to make some extra money. Is anyone out there a mystery shopper? Do you know when they will contact me? How long does it usually take to get a call? thanks!!
I want to become a mystery shopper and get paid to go shopping and bust the bad customer service knuckleheads
Jennifer is on her way towards making 2009 a great year!
I just did two mystery shops. One was in a sports store, the other was in a bank. The bank one wasn’t too much fun but the one in the sports store was a blast. I’m definitely going to do one like that again.
There’s a lot of paperwork involved afterwards, and you have to have a good memory to remember names of employees and their general description. I love to write and I have a pretty good memory, so this suits me well. I find that it helps me to open myself up, since I’m a pretty introverted person. So, it helps me towards my goal of being more extroverted too, which is great. :)
It isn’t hard to get into nor is it difficult to do. I just found the assignments to be a bit boring and sparse. It depends on where you live and what stores are nearby and how far you are willing to travel. I think there’s a misconception on mystery shopping. You’re not really shopping as you are critiquing and reviewing.
I get loads of assignments emailed to me, but never sign up for them. Admittedly it’s a bit difficult at the moment, but once Little Miss is in a routine, I’m totally doing it!
Not that I expect to get money out of it, but it will be something to put on my resume in the not-too-distant future.
It’s actually quite a bit of work. You have reports to fill out, you need to be attentive to detail and you need to be really organized.
Now that I work full time, it’s not something I do anymore, but when I was between jobs and a college student it was a great way to actually eat a meal out or get a present for someone.
My advice: NEVER, EVER PAY to become a secret shopper. There are lots of free places. There is a certification that might be worth getting if you do it a lot, but it isn’t worth it if you are just a casual participant.

I did this a few years ago for one of those companies – I did about 5 or 6 Longhorn Steakhouse lunches and dinners. It was fun at first, but got to be a drag – you have to fill out a very detailed form right after you go. They made demands as to what you should order (they always wanted you to order an appetizer, as well as a main course and drink). They did not reimburse the full amount. How cheap is that? I had to take at least 2 hours out of my life, fill out a very detailed report, get it in immediately – and they couldn’t even cover my expenses? It was ok at first as I felt like I was getting a deeply discounted meal out. It definitely got old though.
