Many production techs, managers, designers etc live this every week in many facets of the live entertainment industry.
It makes you very tired and detached from the “rest of the world” when you are on gigs that make you have 28 hour days.
Props to people that can deal with it. I don’t personally enjoy it, and I did it for almost 5 years.

This is an actual methodology as outlined at http://www.dbeat.com/28/ and http://xkcd.com/320/. Is this a feasible schedule for those with flexible working hours like myself? A couple of sources have suggested that this will send you crazy or even kill you, however I can find no justification for this anywhere.

When I left India, on a Monday morning at 1h45 in the morning, I travelled 9.5 hours to Frankfurt in Germany, waited 3 hours in Frankfurt, then boarded another plane and travelled 8.5 hours to Toronto in Canada, waited for 4 hours then boarded a final plane, headed to Ottawa, Canada. When we got to Ottawa, the local time was 17h00, Monday.
When I finally got home, I only got to bed at about 23h00, so that made for a 32 hour day!!!
A grand total of 19 hours of flying and 7 hours of flying!!!

I had a few consecutive 30+ hour days with about 5 hours of sleep in between them. This was just prior to the Democratic National Convention and we were updating all the software we had in a week. It was a rough rough time, and I nearly killed myself and two other sys admins trying to drive back to DC. Luckily, I stopped and slept at my sister’s place that morning, and then had work pay for a hotel for the other days.

Deni H is juggling a lot of balls right now.
Once, in my first year out of college I stayed up for 3 days consecutive trying to get things accomplished. I only took 20 minute power naps periodically. I didn’t feel good for almost two or three weeks following/during that time. I really do think it took at least a day or two off of my lifespan expectancy. And, this was back in the days when sleep didn’t matter as much to me, too.

could be acting as if my day actually had 28 hours. With conviction. With confidence.
My day has 28 hours. My day has 28 hours. My day has 28 hours.
Yes. I am totally convinced. I’ll do the cleaning later, in my extra hours.

Problems at work, college, with my family, with my boyfriend and friends… I saw myself crying while I was walking through the streets to take a bus. Is this the “you´re growing up” everybody says?
Well, I also could sleep less (and feel good during the day)...
