I don’t know how I seem to end up with not enough room for all my stuff. I’m not a person who buys things I don’t have room for, and I’m not a hoarder or a saver. Right now I blame it on having a small apartment shared with a roommate. When we first moved in, I streamlined a lot of stuff and tried having a simple living space. I loved it. But then when I started grad school, I had to get a desk and a bigger computer and more books and now it’s all cluttered again. Hopefully I’ll be able to move into my own apartment soon, which, even if it’s small, should give me some more space to “simplify.”

coheeriesspark is find passion, preparing to pursue it... watch me fly!
About once a week, I plunge into the second bedroom, which in our apartment is a room filled with my possessions. Today, I threw away a small bag of random junk that I never use, but mostly, I moved stuff around. It looks cleaner, but I know all the stuff is still in there, just in slightly less noticeable locations.
We want to put up a few shelves, to increase the storage space, but neither of us are handy.
I know I have so much that I may almost never use, but I worry about giving it away if I might need it someday.
refreshed! Today I did a MAJOR overhaul on this place, throwing out stuff I haven’t touched in years, organizing, and generally simplifying. I think I’m using my space more effectively and there’s a lot more room for the things I want/want to do.
There is still yet some simplification to be done but I am happy with how things are now. :]
I plan to remove one clutter-y item from my room everyday, but this isn’t really working because I feel attached to everything in here. All the random school papers and broken knick-knacks have a place in my heart, so this is hard.
Once I sell the books and box up some other things it’ll be easier. Sometime next week, it should be.
there is so much junk in here, mooching, looking gross. i want to make room for new stuff, stuff that matters!
the books have to go. the surfaces i don’t use (and i suppose these will be cut down greatly once i get rid of some junk) will go in the basement, back where they belong. or else in the other room, which i will probably turn into a study of sorts.
wish me luck.
