This is looking doubtful due to the current money situation. this might have to go into the long term goal list.

We stayed in Listvyanka, and Irkutsk. It was the coldest I’ve ever been. Awesome memories! Lake Baikal was frozen. I recommend the Trans-Siberian as an amazing experience – just don’t expect to enjoy it at the time. It’s one of those look-back-and-reminisce type trips.
I participated in the Great Baikal Trail Project, and spent two months in Siberia building trails and hanging out. Lake Baikal is amazingly beautiful, I loved the people, and it was the best summer job ever! If you can have the money for the plane ticket, you won’t spend much more on living there (food and boarding is cheap, especially if you are camping and building trails like I was).
