The reminder I set for this arrived some time last week in my e-mail. 5 months ago

Unfortunately, 43T doesn’t offer a “quarterly” reminder option, so I had to select the “monthly” option. I just put a note into the reminder text saying “Do this at the start of the next quarter: July.”

No progress on any of the postponed goals, and for the moment only “Finish my degree” is even on my mental radar. And that’s mainly because I’ve been asked by a Continuing Education co-ordinator at a local university to consider developing and teaching a course for them. I realize that CE instructors don’t have to have degrees – only the requisite experience to make them useful resources. But still, it felt a little strange to send Dr. F a résumé that doesn’t even list a completed B.A.

We’ll be meeting this coming Friday to discuss the idea further.

I'm temporarily giving up some of my goals, but... 6 months ago

...I don’t want to lose sight of them. So I’m making a list here to remind myself that I may want to consider reactivating them when circumstances allow.

For various reasons (largely other priorities and/or lack of time, energy, cash, or motivation), the following goals are on hold for now. All of them have been on my 43T list since the first few weeks I was here (back in July 2007). I don’t expect to make significant progress toward any of them for quite a while.

    • Learn to spin yarn.
    • Learn sign language.
    • Learn to whistle with my fingers.
    • Write a book (non-fiction).
    • Finish my degree.

Marking them “I give up” preserves any related entries and comments, but makes room on my list for goals I’m actively pursuing.

EDIT: My current plan is to review this goal at least quarterly.
