"Wait, that, over there. Is that one or is it a radio tower? Wait, I think it moved. Yeah, I think it's a ghost light."

How I did it: A friend and I took a little road trip out to west Texas with seeing the ghost lights topping our to do list. We didn't get to see them very well because we got there late. But it was still neat to try.

Lessons & tips: Try to arrive right before sundown.

How I did it: The final couple of days of our west Texas/Big Bend mini-vacation were open to anything.  One possibility was going to see the Marfa Lights.  That morning, we said goodbye to Big Bend, went over to Terlingua for a bit, then headed up towards Alpine.  At the Border Patrol checkpoint just south of Alpine, when the agent asked "where are you heading?"     We're heading to west Texas in a couple of weeks! 6 months ago

    My girlie and I are heading to Big Bend to do some backpacking in the Chisos in a couple of weeks, but we’re also going to swing by Balmorhea and Fort Davis while we’re out there. Maybe we can hit Marfa as well. Arrrgh! So much to do, so little time. :)

    last winter i spent a week driving all around texas…i was in marfa for two days, tried to see the lights but saw nothing. SADNESS. but the people at the winery outside of marfa told me all about how ridiculously bizarre they are, cause apparently they see them like every other month. one day i’ll go back out there =(
