start a college fund for my kids

This needs to wait till after the bankruptcy. Then we need to figure out how much we can afford to put in each. Since the kids are different ages, I think we should put different amounts in. Jess only has 4 yrs before college, Trevor has 6 yrs, and Tyler has 11 yrs.

I don’t want to pay my kids’ way through college but I would like to be able to give them a headstart because I think starting is the hardest part. AshLee will be hitting college in about four years and then Erika in another 13 or 14 years and dear little Mia was just born so I have more time there.

Since I receive a little extra in my VA check for each child, I think I am going to set that aside each month to help them out. It’s only $50 a month per child but that’s about $600 a year. I will start setting aside the money as soon as I go back to work full time.
