LPBraun needs to do some cardio & posture exercises!
In process of changing to an online bank, but would like to keep my brick & mortar bank account open for depositing checks. My current bank charges a fee so I am tranferring to a free account now offered @ the brick & mortar bank. I completed most of the process today. I just need to go to the bank & personally close the old account. Hopefully have this done by the 25th.

one account and got some $10. The procedure went suprisingly smooth, it took only 5 minutes or so.

Now I have at least 3 unused bank accounts. I am going to close one per week and draw about $100.

But now I am. I had an unfortunate negative balance on an account at one of my banks. The bank racked up a fee that, let’s be polite, would make a loan shark blush. So I went in and negotiated it down, because some is better than none.
And I was happy enough with the situation.
But then the banker made a blunder. She suggested that I use cash for small debits. I immediately got the sense that the bank didn’t value me as a customer, which is funny. I have a six-year old truck which I financed through this bank, and any person looking to capture my business on the next loan would’ve tread far more carefully.
Indeed, after a tiny shade of thought, they could’ve turned this into an opportunity to get more of my business. But they let slip that it wasn’t valuable.
So now I’ll be doing all of my banking at one bank, where they seem to value my business. I’ll protect the non-customer focused bank by not naming them, but the lesson here is to make sure that you bank with folks who appreciate your money, no matter the amount.

I opened this one because it was right down the street and i didn’t think my bank had any branches near by but I found my bank and no longer need this.

Timid Magick should come back here more often. These goals are important.
They never stopped payments from coming out when I asked. They charge too many fees just so I can have the pleasure of seeing them take my hard earned money. They handled requests incorrectly. Been with them since 1997 so change is hard. Once my dad pays off my car loan though I am closing my account down and never looking back.
