My entry for BC got in without any major hitches… that I know of… yet… Well, anyway, something got in, for sure. I guess I can’t really cross this goal off until the end of the application season, which for me will be the beginning of January- giving me a lovely little two-month period in which to perfect my anxiety. Nice.

3 days fromm mmy initial goal, I have submmitted mmy college application. An easy and attainable goal for sure. I should actually had it commpleted the day before but no vehicle and the torrents of rain deterred mme.Phoned the highschool and discovered that they were open later in the afternoon than I had thought. So kissed and waved to mmy Mmmichael, as he watched mme go out the door on camm fromm Ammsterdamm and was on mmy way. The walk was mmore than a half hour but good old Larry was driving down 11th avenue and stopped to pick mme up as he was on the way to the pool.(thank you, Larry).Cost mme $2.oo for mmy highschool transcript and perhaps a 15 to 20 mminute walk to the college to hand it in to admmissions! Errr..next goal funding..but that’s another timme! Lessons & tips: The initial admmission application is really nothing. Cost $2. for mmy high school transcripts - quick phonecall to your highschool to let themm know youll be in to pick themm up is all it is.)It's being enrolled into the classes, choosing the classes and getting funding that is going to be the real work (Help!!!) I would recommend doing the first step (admmission application and transcripts). Good luck! |

How I did it: I decided on what degree I wanted to do, worked out what grades I was likely to get by asking my teachers for realistic predicted grades and found out which univerisities did my course and where within my grade bracket. I then narrowed them down to ones within 2 hours of my hometown so I could get home easily, and visited all the ones that I was interested in before coming up with my shortlist of 5 to apply to. Well, I have the application formm for the NWCC. All I need to do is get mmy highschool transcripts. I’ve already arranged to pick these up the next day. Then I can either mmake an appointmment with Lianne or drop off mmy commpleted formm. This goal – easy and attainable. We’ll see what develops!

It’s getting toward crunch time vis a vis this whole “college” thing. My first deadline, for B.C.’s early action program, is November 1st… giving me roughly five minutes to wrap up, lick some stamps, and ship this shit out. In other words, it will be a stretch, to say the least.
And then there’s the matter of my own lack of any real interest in the whole process- but that worry belongs to the “go to college” goal, I suppose.

I really need to start getting my apps done! I need my letters of recommendation and my FAFSA too! It’s so stressful. I just started writing my essays. I really want to get this done as soon as possible but it’s hard with school starting and work and all of that too…

bcuz my application is not completed and even though the school doesn’t have a deadline, I dont want them to think im not interested=[ if they dont accept me ill have to go far away for college. not that i wouldnt greatly appreciate a small vacation from my family=] but im not independent! i cant be on my own, my art history museum project is already two weeks late because i didnt want to go to the museum by myself. why am i such a failure!?

i’ve submitted forms to Mcgill and Concordia. Mcgill is definitely a reach… but now i just have to get my school to send in my transcripts.

I listed this goal today, unfortunately and so sadly expecting to procrastinate about this. But Life has a way of slapping whatever YOU’re thinking, right outta you’re head.
...So I get a call from the school. I decided to take advantage and procrastinate no more and I set up an interview with the admitting director for tomorrow! Funny he actually remembers me. Shows just how long I’ve been procrastinating about this. But we can’t dwell on that, as I have an essay to finish!!

I’ve been letting things get in the way. But no more I say! My goal is to apply for school before 2008 is over. I’m working on my essay, but am having a difficult time staying focused. How do you get back into the swing of going to school when it’s been 7 years?!
I need help staying focused., I somehow keep imagining that a school schedule of my classses is just going to show up in my mailbox.
