Each room has a different feel. One of my favorites is actually my bathroom. It is on the second floor and has a vaulted ceiling with windows looking into a magnolia tree. I painted it violet. It is so serene and peaceful. The color wasn’t actually one of my favorites before, I just picked it because it went so well with the moody celadon of the master bedroom and the misty blue of the study that it opens on to. (and it was one of the few colors I’d never used) Now it is definitely a favorite.
My wife and I painted one wall (except a 10” border) in each room of an old apartment a different colour (except the bathroom, which was completely bright acid green and the kitchen, which did not have a wall suitable.) The living room got a nice dark taupe. The bedroom wall was light blue. The second bedroom received a sort of banana-y yellow.
Guests were usually stunned by the bathroom. Every wall and ceiling surface, except the tile in the shower, was roughly this colour: greeeen
The down side is that it was also difficult to cover up afterwards. :^/
One of the best things I’ve ever done. Color = fun! color = joy! color = yea, wow, woah!, ahhh, smile, joy and a miriad of other good things.
