i want to go on tour; sleep on couches; play a show every night and drive throughout the country with my friends.
How to go on tour
How I did it: 100's of hours of hard work on the internet. seriously, expect to be shot down 100 times for every one show you get confirmed. expect to be actively ignored. keep trying. it's an endurance test. don't give up. venues and promoters for some reason only take you seriously if you harass them constantly for months. also, don't even think about touring without merchandise. otherwise you will lose your ass. and don't be afraid to ask for guarantees. the worst that can happen is they say no, and the best that can happen is you get it!
Lessons & tips: learn to live off of beer, because food and sleep will be rare commodities.
Resources: indie on the move .com is the best resource available to self-booking musicians

dewaddikt picked 43, now I just need to get started!
First I suppose I should get a band. But the real goal is to tour. Something about climbing into a van for a few weeks and driving around the country living off of nothing sounds very appealing to me!
audio_artist is staying up too late
i think id love to do this
although you can never be sure until you’ve tried it
maybe it’d be the best time of my life
maybe the partying would destroy me
there i go being unsure of myself again, lol
i wanna able to go on tour wit only myself cuz i work better tht way or wit my family
im collapsing all my music-related goals into one umbrella goal of music. i know what i need to do and theyre taking up too much room on my list.
Played a bunch of DIY shows, mostly houses, a couple cafes, a record store, and almost played a bar tonight but their wall collapsed. Bummer. But the rest of the country is waiting!
I’ve toured with a band, and an art show. Both were completely worth it. It’s pretty cool getting to see what your made of, and what you actually need to survive, versus what you THINK you need. I’m going out on the road again in October!
It’s just not in the cards right now. Pop rock bands just don’t want to help each other out the way all the other indie subcultures do.
