After nearly a year of sort of trying to spin and thinking how very hard it was, I bought some new roving. Grey Romney, not the softest stuff in the world, but I’m loving it. Its so very easy to draft, and all the time I though I was such a horrible spinner, it was just that I had bad roving. I have about an ounce of it spun into a very even yarn, and once I get a bit more finished, I’m thinking about plying it together. :)

I’ve had a spindle and a beautiful blue roving in my closet for well over a year now. After about 20 minutes of fuzzy blue failure, I decided that spinning wasn’t really my thing anyways and put it away until I hopefully forgot how awful I was at it. Well the time has now come. In accordance with my goal of getting rid of anything I’m not using, I’ve decided to try spinning again. Of course, you couldn’t expect me to discard something with the potential to be knitted, even if I have absolutely no use for it. So I’ll give it another try. Wish me luck!
I used to spin for the sheer pleasure of it, then I had kids. (If you have kids I don’t need to explain, if you don’t, I could never find time alone and they kept messing with my wheels.) Now I want to dust off the wheel and spin again because I am soooo addicted to knitting I want the yarn!
I learned to spin a few years ago so I could spin my own knitting yarn. I am a good knitter but a marginal spinner. I did knit my favorite sweater out of my own homespun though!
...some years ago now but I still have some of the wool, my friend was doing art etc at college & I had a go, it was fun.We spent many an hour on the job. Oh happy days
