I’d like to reach a point in my career where I can be expert enough to present on something. I’m not sure if I’m there—yet. But I will be.
Scott Urbanowski is doing some planning - both short-term and long-term!
How I did it: I presented at a breakout session of the MORHA (Michigan Organization of Residence Hall Associations) 2009 Conference, which included leaders of residence hall associations from across the Great Lakes State. The conference was mainly a way to meet other leaders from different schools, as well as to attend programs put on by people from different schools and think about how these programs could similarly be put on at one's own school.I pre… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Over the last few years I've realized my passion for teaching and speaking. The primary problem is that in my current work I have less than three years of experience. I decided that taking my new knowledge of my current career (I'm a neonatal ICU nurse) and delivering it to an audience of my former peers (EMT's and paramedics) would be a winning ticket. This year I presented a talk on survivors of prematurity at our state EMS conference. Read how I did it…

How I did it: Some help was needed from the enviromental policy makers of my city. I got the reviewers responses last week, and it doesn’t look like my paper is going to get in this time around. No worries. I’ll just rewrite it a little and resubmit it someplace else in a bit.
I spent the last month-and-a-half working on a scientific paper for a conference, which I submitted last Friday. As far as I can tell, the paper is not stellar, so it remains to see if they take it.
Either way, I am now quite close to accomplish this goal, since if I get rejected at this conference I can just revise the article a bit and send it someplace else.
As I’m doing a PhD this should come naturally. I’m working on my first conference submission right now.
I reapplied to the same conference as last year, this time with a different topic. I’m in! Scheduled for 11/25.
just presented a poster at a conference last week. it was interesting, nerve wracking, exhausting, a little less people than i expected, but overall a good experience. submission for another conference (different organization) next year is 4/15…
reachbrenda has a whole new life she's not so sure about at the moment
I have done this at small conferences, but now I really want to do a national conference of some type.

I put together a conference earlier this month, which was a great buzz. But MCing one, and presenting at one are different things…
