i want to be like my govt/econ teacher. i find him incredibly fascinating because he’s lived in england and worked in a pub, lived in japan and china (and met his wife!). i want to be a well-cultured person who experience different cultures around the world because my nightmare is being an ethnocentric.
the idea of having an unfurnished apartment, adapting, living alone with 2 dogs and not having a permanent setting seems so appealing to me and what i’ve always wanted. 15 months ago

but I can safely boast four of these where I have actually lived for extended periods of time. One of them absolutely not worth it, the other three definitely. OK, one of the three is my native country, so I guess I had little choice on the matter, but still, it wasn’t a bad deal at all… Wouldn’t really change it. 5 years ago

I like travelling. I like seeing other cultures. I like not knowing everything about a country, and being able to learn something totally different. I like the fact that in spite of global commercialism the world is still a hugely varied place, and nowhere stays the same for ever.
