My horse is not 100% right now and I don’t have the time to dedicate to this.. I will resume it soon!
I’ve been riding for twelve years, and practicing classical riding (The style used by medieval knights) for the past eight.
I’ve found someone to learn from, and I start lessons in a few months. Wish me luck!
hey do any of you know any where you can learn jousting (or anything 2 do with neing a knight…<-dont ask why….) any where in canada?..i already know how to ride very well…ive been riding for almost 6 years and can stay on almost anythin(the pony i usually ride bucks…a lot!!) so if any one knows any places in canada…most probably in montreal…please!!!
I’ve been having riding lessons for a year now and I WANT TO JOUST! But I’m a medical student so lots of study…How do I learn to joust with very little time and very little money??
I realized that I am already well into learning how to ride a horse, so why not do something fun with it. I figure how many people can say they know how to joust. Now I just have to find a place to teach me.
So then, Dear Reader, here are a couple of passes with the lance and then, again, in slow motion; whilst you have been enjoying one of those rare, “perfect” summers, I have been training hard. 50 weeks ago, on August 9th 2005 I decided to learn to Joust. At the time I had never had a riding lesson and, if truth be told, was quite nervous around horses. Yesterday, yesterday I did THIS:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o111s-q-9Qk
I have just booked two lessons for this weekend (one on Saturday and one on Sunday) – we’re going to work on Jump Position on Saturday and probably hack out on Sunday.
And then that is it … the following Saturday at early o’clock I’ll be heading up to Warwick Castle!
This weekend I will hopefully be working on my cantering in my lesson and, with a bit of luck be hacking out on an ex-polo pony that should let me neck rein.
I need to sort out somewhere to stay on the day of the Jousting!
I had a phone call and an e-mail yesterday confirming my place on the 29th July. Karl also asked me if I have ever done any sword fighting before.
“a bit”, I said
He questioned me a little more in order to get some more detail, so I told him the whole sordid history which amounts to about 20 years worth of sword fighting and some formal training with a staff.
“and you can ride too!”, he said, ” you are going to have such a good time!”
