They are so darn funny! I love how their feet stick out on their short little legs and how their ears flop around. They make the coolest noises – like they are talking to you. Hard to take for a walk though because of how much they like to sniff stuff and since they are stubborn too they just won’t move till they are ready. But they are also generous with lovin’ and give it freely. I love these cuties!

I got my basset hound – Bess – over a year ago! Its one of the best things I’ve ever done – she is so full of life and so devoted! She can be lazy – but once you know how to motivate her she’ll do anything for you (for food usually!!)

I still would like to get a basset hound, it’s just not the right time for us. When we move to a house with a yard, we’ll get a dog, but for right now, we’re happy with our canary! :-)

Its been just over a year now since we adopted our dear sweet Henry (aka Hank, Hankasaurus, Hankster, Mister et al.)
I have wanted one Pug and one Basset for years. My family is complete! Henry just turned two. He is a big lovebug! Sweet, affable, easygoing but fun and active when you want him to be. He is the perfect addition to our family.

We have two Basset Hounds. The first was bought at a breeder. The second from a rescue. I think either way worked out for us, but in the future we are going to try the rescues first because there was less training involved with her. It also is helping take animals who need a home and giving them one, itstead of telling breeders to keep making more puppies.
