All my life I have always wanted to help the poor especially in my home country Kenya where many people survive on less than a dollar per day.but these dream is almost impossible for it needs alot of funding.
In Kenya banks are the sole organizations that give out loans at a very high intrest rate of 18%,this rate makes many Kenyans to shy away from loans and the elderly are spared neither because after a certain age (retirement)they are not ligible to apply for loans.
Having looked at the situation I realised the poor will always be poor ,but having worked with a micro finance instituton I came up with an idea to see my dream come true.A project to help the poor.
The project is about lending money but at a low intrest rate of 10%,this way it will help the poor to finance projects that will improve their social economic status and their living standards. I already have a detailed,written project on these.

i love to feed the homeless among a small group of volunteers. I have been doing it for many months outdoors even in our viciously cold winters.

its not hard to see that the food they are receiving through donations is mostly devoid of real nutrition.  i have been using some of my own money to feed them. i create highly nutritious salads, rich brown rice dishes and a fabulous chili,l etc. for them. since i am on a very limited income i can offer only limited amounts of food.

we often have over 200 people come on Sunday afternoons.  we meet in the open, outside of city hall in calgary.  without proper nutrition many of these people will not be able to function normally and advance in finding jobs and homes for themselves.  they frequently live in appalling conditions.

i would like to offer them a high quality vitamin and mineral pill as well .  we meet 4 times a week. many of these unfortunate, disenfranchised souls are addicts. Research shows that recovery is greatly expedited with good nutrition. some of these people don't want to change but for those who genuinely do, i plan to occasionally house them in a private residence other than what is already available.  we also enhance their spiritual beliefs and see fabulous results.

we need finances for food, vitamins, a certified kitchen, big pots, and occasional housing for those who show the promise of a genuine desire to change, grow, and improve their lives by becoming productive citizens.

word gets around on the streets if the food is good, and that gives us the opportunity of dealing with a greater number of people, many of whom have just lost their way or who have been badly abused and broken-hearted. we try to show them love, caring and understanding.
