June Recap 5 months ago

Checking this one off the list. It was a very good month for family and relationships. Really feeling like Portland is home, and could be for awhile. Starting to see a future in photography. Pleased that I have a relatively stress free 40 hour a week day job that gives me 21 vacation days a year.

July should be a continuation of this. Spending 5 days with family in Iowa. Tuesday Photography Class. Wednesday Frisbee Night. Run more. Road Trip to Seattle?

Week of June 28: 5 months ago

Lovely week. This week I would like to focus on sustaining the basic routine, and enjoying the process.

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistThis area is pretty much cleared out. I still have bags waiting to go out the door, but I feel like the qi is flowing. Also the refrigerator is clean. This week, I’ll sit down and plan finances for the first board exam.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)
Gym 1-3 times this week. Look for dance related things to go to this month. Qi gong (almost) every day this week.

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).
Email Rudy work schedule. Ask coworker dentist’s name.

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.
Look at ticket prices for Boston. Write a list of places I’d like to go.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note.
Also send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself). Stay close to consistently positive people. Know that I’m a gift and that other people are gifts as well.

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.
Keep up with Wesabe. Defer Wachovia loan. Have two more to go. Do one or two feng shui things in the prosperity corner.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.2-3 meetings this week. Talk to one or two EFT therapists. (EFT is great! I talked with a therapist, and went to a workshop this week. I’ll attend two more classes throughout July.)

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.Stay open. Write to I. Meet with T. (Had a nice week getting to know T., but I found out last night that he will barely be back in Chicago. He lives half the time in northern Michigan but it turns out that will change to MOST of the time, and I told him didn’t think I wanted another long distance relationship. Too bad because he is really fun to be around and talk to.)

10. Be on time for work.Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time. Keep up with this.

Guidelines
Do the tough stuff first
Stay close to my community
Have fun!

New Paradigm
With each step I take, I step into the divine flow of life. or clearing the wreckage and freeing my qi, all in the name of Truth and Beauty:)

Major Focus
Acupuncturist

Vision for the week
I handle all tasks fluidly and joyfully, and enjoy my beautiful surroundings and the loving people and energies around me.

Week of June 21: 5 months ago

I felt like this was a good week.:) I did qi gong every other day, and felt like I was more responsive in my chiropractic treatment. I love the feeling of groundedness and gentle stretching. My back room is much cleaner and I’ve been remembering to bring a bag of recycling on most days to work, and have been experiencing more possibilities of education and training, and healing around the acupuncture school experience. I talked to my therapist about EFT sessions and looking for someone I can work with around that.

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistFeng shui the education corner, where there are about seven bags of recycling. (This is almost done!) Take a bag a day to work. Sit down and plan finances around board exams and licensing.

Read ‘Budget Travel’ magazine. Look at ticket prices for Boston.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note.
Also send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself).

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.
Keep up with Wesabe. Deferred one loan and sent it off in the mail. Have two more to go. Do one or two feng shui things in the prosperity corner.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door. (50%)

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.2-3 meetings this week. Talk to one or two EFT therapists.

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.Stay open. Finish the list my therapist asked me to take. I wrote it out and forgot to put ‘single and available’, and lo and behold, right after I wrote it, a man who I went to school with came into work and asked me for my number (probably platonically), and he matches the list but last I knew he was married.:)Weird, indeed. After I put ‘single and available’ on the list, someone asked me out for coffee who seems to fit this to a T.

10. Be on time for work.
Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time. Keep up with this.

It’s still a very zen time. It’s odd, but as I’m clearing out my back porch, possibilities in acupuncture have been opening up. Also, I cleaned out my refrigerator this past week, too (in the same gua), and a friend of mine told me about this great website called ‘nourishingdestiny’. I just listened to an inspiring lecture tonight from there. And I just read a blog entry of the person (acupuncturist, teacher, etc.) where he wrote about how important it was to maintain a regular practice of something a person does no matter what..his example was taking Tae Kwan Do twice a week regardless.:)

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistFeng shui the education corner, where there are about seven bags of recycling. Take a bag a day to work. Sit down and plan finances around board exams and licensing.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)
Gym 1-3 times this week. Look for dance related things to go to this month. Qi gong every day this week (starting Monday).

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).Email Rudy work schedule. Ask coworker dentist’s name. Doctor’s appointment?

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.Read ‘Budget Travel’ magazine.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note.
Also send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself).

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.Keep up with Wesabe, and I really need to defer the loans this week! Do one or two feng shui things in the prosperity corner.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

New Goal list. 5 months ago

I’ve written down all the different aspect in my life that are the most important now…. when my focus is at the moment, and tried to write goals only focusing on the positive. Just a rough draft of them for now… will edit more. But at least I’m excited again about them, instead of procrastinating. :D

G1: Physical Environment: Simplify, declutter, and clean

G2: Spiritual: Positivity, Nonjudgment (for myself and others). Be fearless. Be authentic.

G3: Knowledge: Never stop learning.

G4: Health/Wellness: Be fit, exercise daily, drink lots of water, be healthy and well nourished.

G5: Abundance: Make money online, and independently. Endless abundance is available to me right now.

G6: Productivity: Wake up early. (Although I’m hesitant to add this because the focus is on doing, I think it’ is okay to want more productivity, as long as I know it’s not just productivity as the ultimate goal)

G7: Inspiration/Creativity: Be continuously inspired. Cultivate creativity.

G8: Hobbies: Practice photography. Write. Discover new music.

G9: Mentors & Teachers: Identify and study. Find people that are already successful in the ways I want to be.

Goal Overhaul. 5 months ago

I was having issues with my goals. I’m just bored with them. And I’ve read that if things are difficult to do, or you don’t have the passion for it then there is a reason. And it’s beyond just being lazy. I am finding that I’m stuck in my current goals and they needed a face lift :) I feel like I’m really progressing, especially spiritually and inspiration-wise at the moment and my current goals are so tied to doing as opposed to contentment with being. I think I’ve made a big shift in myself since writing these goals at the beginning of the year, and my focus isn’t so much on doing this or that in order to be happy. I’m realizing that the reasons for all these goals is simply to find that happiness and peace. And that happiness isn’t in the future. I want that happiness NOW. I feel like my list of goals as they were written was under the assumption that as soon as I do this or that, I _will be happy, and I think that’s chasing an impossibility. I have accomplished big things this year, huge, wonderful steps, and almost as quickly as I accomplish them, I forget the joy in accomplishing them, and focus on what I next need to do in order to be happy. I want to focus on the more spiritual aspect of my goals- the being, and existing and appreciating the present moment…. in loving myself precisely the way I am- not dwell in the thinking that I will love myself (or someone else will be able to love me, if I lose “x” amount of weight). This blog post really has inspired me, along with a ton of other people that I have been studying lately. I think I will never find my happiness if I always think that it is in the future. If just endlessly keep chasing it and thinking if I just accomplish this one goal, then I will be happy. Because then, the search will never end. My happiness, and success, and peace has to be in myself, in this moment. Because that is all there is. All I know is that I want to focus more on the present moment and being happy in that moment. This is much easier said than done, as so much of life is spent regretting or fretting about the past mistakes, and worrying about the future. I’m tired if living that way. As Albert Einstein says, “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.” So, I’m thinking that I need to evolve into a different level of consciousness in order to find happiness, instead of sticking with my old self that created my problems. New list of goals to come…

Week of June 7th: 5 months ago

Oddly, my back porch is a little cleaner, and my acupuncture school called me to offer me a break on the graduation fee. I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but I never paid the fee (which was $375) because I was so financially strapped last year (due to layoff). I also found it annoying that the school would actually charge to ‘graduate’ me, so I wonder if I was also rebelling a little. They lowered the fee to $200. I would’ve needed to pay eventually, because I can’t be licensed without the diploma, but this is just another reason why I think education can be a racket. Anyway, I feng-shuied the education corner (i.e. cleaned the back porch), and got the phone call out of the blue.

I didn’t sign up for Flamenco yet, because the teacher said I couldn’t observe a class before committing to five more classes (even though it’s very clearly stated on the website that one can). When I questioned this, she said ‘Oh that’s very old information. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll remove that from the website.” When she didn’t offer me the advertised option anyway, I felt like I had to reconsider. I may take it next time it comes around. By then I’ll have more clarity.

Also, I did the ‘10 things I want in a person’, and he’s nothing like the person I’ve been seeing long distance, but he sure is something!

1. Become a licensed acupuncturist
Feng shui the education corner, where there are about seven bags of recycling. Take a bag a day to work. Sit down and plan finances around board exams and licensing. Send $50 to MCOM.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)
Gym 1-3 times this week. Look for dance related things to go to this month.

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).Email Rudy work schedule. Ask coworker dentist’s name. Doctor’s appointment?

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.
At this point, don’t really think I want to visit I. in Germany, but would love to visit old and/or new friends in the States. Check out flights and vacation time.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door (Bah!)

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.2-3 meetings this week.

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.Stay open.

June, quite possibly the best month ever. 5 months ago

June has potential to be a great month.

1. My parents are coming to visit me for 5 days. We’re visiting Vancouver, BC. Make a great effort to “live in the present tense” with them. You only see them a 2-3 times a year, make the most of your time with them. Be in a good mood. Talk. Ask questions. Get to know them all over again. Thank them.

I get in a weird mood around them. I definitely did not succeed in this goal…

2. Parents + new GF= tough call. Do I do the whole “Meet the Parents” thing now, or wait until next time (could be a year). Ladies, your advice is appreciated :) I think they would all get along great, but also don’t want to move things too fast and seem over-anxious (ala Taco Bell commercial)

I had nothing to worry about. Had a quick dinner, stayed and chatted for a half hour afterward. Everyone was on their best behavior.

3. Photography class. Recently, I found a gem. Portland Parks & Rec offers a multitude of courses, in exercise, outdoors, performing arts, language…even photography. For $92, I should really sign up for this 5 week class and technically learn the hobby I love. I’m sure it will pay for itself tenfold.

6-4 Signed up today.
6-20 Yes, it already paid for itself tenfold.

4. Roadtrip. I’ve done great lately with 3 road trips in May – Astoria, Forest Grove and Cape Kiwanda. Keep it going: schedule a new hike one of these glorious Sundays.

5. Refocus the career effort. My career motivation comes in spurts. Today I emailed my GM to let him know about my new Custom Broker’s License and see if he wanted me to do anything to continue my development. He said he’s coming down in a few weeks, we’ll have an opportunity to discuss then. Be prepared. Let him know what kind of career you envision at FTN. Tell him you’re open to relocating. Are you still open to that? Answer that question. Update the resume. Get the CCS certification!
