There goes some money. 3 years ago

I’m now a PRO at paying my property taxes. I’ve got alarms and bells set to go off near next tax paying time, and it’s all forever burned into my “bad experiences not to repeat” page of my flaky brain. TAKE THAT/MY MONEY KING COUNTY!

Awesome. 3 years ago

After two dead end phone calls and a bunch of broken links on the metrokc.gov website, I found my “parcel number” (0699800230) which was required to find out how much I owed and who I should pay. Yay. I am soon going to be delinquent no longer. Reason to celebrate… this has been nagging me in the back of my head for weeks. King County you can’t get me down any longer!

I’ve only paid property tax once… about six months after I moved in to my new place, and now I’ve been at my house a bit over a year. I assumed someone would let me know when to pay and who to pay, but nobody ever did (or else I accidentally threw it away). Last week I got a notice saying I had to pay but they explicitly said not to pay THEM. Who then? I vaguely remember being asked if I wanted it to be part of my loan and saying no because I wanted to know when and who I was paying… but now I can’t figure out any information. I should figure this out…

Well I feel dumb... 4 years ago

Um, they’re already paid. My mortgage company paid them. I thought that was written into the closing documents but I wasn’t sure and didn’t know how all that happens. I just took a look at my detailed account summary for my loan and figured it all out.

Do I ever have a lot to learn as a first-time homeowner. Sheesh. I was stressin’ for nothing.

It looks like loanville for me 4 years ago

My dad has offered to help me pay my taxes this year. There’s just no way for me to come up with the $2000 otherwise. They gotta get paid somehow…
