I can’t believe that in just one week I’ll be running in the City 2 Surf – it has come around so quickly!
Thankyou to all those amazing people that have sponsored me – I am only $35 off my fundraising goal, so with one week to go, it is entirely achievable. I love the fact that I am running with a purpose and that I have so many people supporting me all the way – it’s really pushed me to go that extra distance.
I did training this morning and somehow I managed to run 12km’s! I haven’t tried that distance before and I did it with relative ease. So I’m very confident that I can make the 14km’s next weekend.
Again, thankyou for all the support you’ve given me – it is very touching and I hope our combined effort will help in important reseach to develop new ways to battle cancer.
I’ll keep everyone posted throughout the week leading up to the big race!

amazing people who have sponsored me so far. The City 2 Surf race is in 3 weeks and I’m still trying to raise as much as I can for the Cancer Council so if you have a spare few dollars and want to support this great cause, please visit my fundraising page at:

New shoes....
I looked at my runners the other day and realised that the soles were worn flat because of all the road running I do…. so I went out and got a new pair today (which I was long overdue to get anyway…).
I’ve been for a few runs this week and feel that I’m getting back into the swing of training again. I’ll start increasing the distance I go soon to improve my endurance. Looking forward to trying out my new runners….

for this has started up again (I eased off for a bit because of the course I’m doing for work as it was taking up most of my spare time). I went for a 6km run this morning and managed just fine – so my fitness hasn’t dropped off too much which I was glad to see. I’m going to try to increase the distance over the next few days and get up to 8km by the weekend.
The Cancer Council contacted me the other day and they’re sending me a running singlet to run the race in – so not only am I going to raise money for the charity, but I’ll also be able to give them free advertising.
A little over 2 months to go – something tells that time is going to fly by!

Now that I’ve registered to run in the City 2 Surf in August (just over 2 months away, I can start fundraising for a charity of choice. So the idea is that you get people to sponsor you to run via the City 2 Surf website (link to my page found here ) and then I do all the hard work by running the 14km’s on the day.
The charity I picked is the Cancer Council. I regularly donate each month to this charity as it is, however I’d love this chance to raise even more money for this great cause. Cancer is something that affects so many people in so many ways – so I like to think that the money I donate could potentially assist in finding new cures and developing better medicines that could one day save the lives of the people I love.
Any donations big or small will be very much appreciated and I’ll keep everyone updated on how I progress with the preparations for the race and on my fundraising efforts.
