Communication breakdown 3 years ago

I think I was born with the desire to be blatant in my communications. Unfortunately, Big Bad Things happened which stunted that desire and thus, I have lived most of my life keeping my opinions & thoughts to myself in both trivial and ultra-important matters. But now I’m slowly finding my way back to blatant.

Everyday communication usually has me torn. I tend to remain quiet, but I’m just not very good at covering up what it is that I’m really feeling, which results in my coming across as one of those bizarre people who react inappropriately in social settings. Recently, I’ve met a person who is very forward. Having a conversation with this person completely elates me in that I am able to speak my mind and know that it’s alright; if we disagree, we’ll talk about it. If we misunderstand, we’ll talk about it. What a concept!

like in an e-mail to a friend today. no thank you, I do not want to go to a scrapbook party. I have 15 rolls of undeveloped film – I do not like to cut out froofy paper and arrange my pictures around them. whew! yes! I said no and it felt good. that’s a little progress.
