get my driver`s license back

I got a letter from the BMV, which I dreaded opening. However, to my surprise it was to let me know that my license is ready for reinstatement of August 18!! I am so excited. It had been suspended for 2 years now although I can’t say I went that whole time without driving! I cant wait to get it back so I can drive myself to the grocery store, laundrymat, work, just to have a feeling of independence back!! :]

I just got pulled over on my suspended license and I cannot just procrastinate on it anymore. I am gonna have to court and do whatever they want. It really sucks. Blah.

I have a hearing set for the end of next month and I’ve completed everything they wanted, I’m on my way!

Well they actually did let me slide b/c I have no actual criminal record and am still in school, have kids, etc I guess. They just threw out the DWLR charge and reduced the speeding. Cost $200. Definitely can’t complain there. Of course, the cab rides to and from school are killing me ($30/ day) but I am actually not driving now. Soon, please….

Well I found out I have 2 more issues in NC to clear up, one of which I thought I had taken care of in 1996 and one that I had absolutely no idea about. And then I got pulled drivng to school here in MA about 2 weeks ago. Of course it’s my own fault but that doesn’t make it any less of a PIA. $500 more dollars just for that….maybe they will let me slide since it’s my first offense here and I can still get it back this summer or fall.

Found a lawyer in the last county and paid him today. Cost more than I expected, but at least it will be done. I am hoping to have my license in June, after my final May 22nd court date is cleared. This is costing me so much, they really make it difficult to get straight. I guess that’s why so many people don’t for so long.

Just sent out 2 checks today- $850 and $500- to lawyers for 2 different couties in NC where I have unresolved issues. And they were the big ones too, so the last one should be a breeze, at least money wise. It’s the most minor offense too. I am having the hardest time finding a decent lawyer in Davidson Co, NC though. Anyone know of one?

Now I’m completely insured, registered and licensed. First time in a while.

I need someone who has a license and a car help me get my DL back. I would do it on my own, but I don’t have anyone that I’m close enough to that would be willing to let me take the test again in their car.
