learn to play my guitar

I’m totally doing this. I’min the middle of learning Good Riddance [Green Day] and What I Got [Sublime. DUDE I CAN ALMOST DO THE SOLO BIT!]

I’m so proud of me.

First lesson is tomorrow, i fully expect to have the guitar mastered at the end of my free 30 minute session.

I want learn to play guitar so that I can write songs and then play and sing in a lovely little restaurant.

I had gotten my guitar and i only play it when i ‘m upset and i want to practice it more every day that way i can accutally acomplish something that ’s and insterment

I jumped at chance! My husband gave me an accoustic for Christmas 07 but with redoing the house we really didn’t have time or cash for me to get lessons. With things getting overwhelming, we recently began attending a wonderful church with the nicest people and a fantastic pastor. Oddly, around Christmas a member offered free lessons because he wanted to give something back. Today was my first lesson, I don’t expect it to happen overnight, but it feels great to be learning… I was never one for teaching myself. Next time we meet he even wants me to bring the electric guitar that my parents gave me for Christmas back when I was 15… and didn’t sit still long enough to learn to play. Maybe I’ll learn both!!

I can play a few power chords. It’s just hard to pick it up and practice, even tho when I do I very much enjoy it. For some reason, it’s just hard to find the right headspace to start.

Actually I know more than that, but it takes time to learn to change between them with any rapidity, and while keeping the beat. With practice, it is getting somewhat easier but I’m still no Eddie Vedder..

my friend told me about jamorama…a computer program you can learn guitar with…when i have a moment…i am getting it.

I’ve had a few lessons and I can play some chords and I know the notes but thats about it. My guitar is just sitting in the corner and I wish i could play. I stopped lessons ages ago so its up to me.

I’ve had it since 2006 and I can hardly play it. I used to get lessons from a teacher at school [who was in a band and that band got famous. Attic Lights, google them] but then he left. Now my guitar sits at the foot of my bed doing nothing. I don’t even know if it’s tuned right.

I really need to do this.
