DoctorTeeth...14 Months Ago? Really?

So, 14 months ago, I was 47% through this list; today I’m 64% through. Not a whole lot of progress, I must say. But I’ve made a concerted effort to finish this up shortly and free up a space on my list, so I’ve read a few of them recently.

Mouse Guard: Fall 1152 – I read the first issue of this a couple of years ago and was left unimpressed, but everyone else who reads it seems to love it. After reading it all together, it’s actually fairly good: I’m still not sold on the story, but the illustrations are great. It would be excellent for kids.

Bone: The One Volume Edition – Love. I love this series. It’s brilliant. I kind of wish the series had stayed as full of fun as The Great Cow Race and didn’t go all “fantasy epic,” but it’s a great story, and Jeff Smith’s visual storytelling is spectacular.

Daredevil: Born Again – It’s fun to remember when Frank Miller wasn’t a crazy hack. This story is great, and probably the best of the “make Matt Murdock’s life a living hell” stories that Daredevil comics have told since Miller started writing the book.

Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall – I really should have read this before now. It’s a great anthology telling the secret history of a number of the Fables characters, with a host of amazing guest artists.

Ghost World – I was really unimpressed with the first 2 chapters of this story, but as it progressed it was more and more compelling, and when I got to the end I was surprisingly affected and wanted to read it all over again. 18 months ago

DoctorTeethMore Comics To Read

I put this goal on my 101 in 1001 list a while ago now, but haven’t added it until now because, well, I guess I was procrastinating. Anyhow: the community associated with Comic Geek Speak podcast made a list of the top 100 Trade Paperbacks ever published. And since I love lists so much, AND I love comics so much, this seemed like a no-brainer to try and get through.

According to my list I’m currently 47% through the list. Some of the ones that aren’t “consumed” I read a while ago and figure I should re-read before checking them off permanently. Another list, another comics-related goal: I want to get this off my 101 in 1001 list and try something else! 2 years ago
