We’re going for his 4th birthday, just the two of us. :)
How I did it: I used part of my tax return to treat my son and I to a much needed vacation. I shopped around to find a great deal on airfare and hotel. I kept it a secret from my son for months so he wouldn't be totally freaking out every day (today mom? today mom? today today today???), which was totally worth it!
Lessons & tips: Here's a hint: The Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan hotels are not owned by Disney... they're owned and operated by Marriot. This means their rooms go on sale!

We visited Disney World in October 2007 with the in-laws and it was a blast. My son told me he wants to have kids just so he can bring them here. We stayed in a budget on-property hotel with the meal-plan and it was completely worth it. We would have easily spent 3x what we did for food/drink/etc and I feel like we had a huge variety of things to eat and places to go.
Disney is something everyone should do once in their lives, and certainly if they have kids.
