Starting a new one next month

Good point. Going to bed on time and getting up on time is exactly right. I keep telling myself I must do the same. Haven’t hit that note yet. There’s just so much stuff to do – but I tend to let them drag on for much longer than they need to be. Keep to deadlines. Not a hope – especially when they are so unrealistic in the first place.

Work... 4 months ago

I need to concentrate more and be more focused, I am good at my job when I try but have recently given up trying, this economic downfall has affected all travel agents not just me so I shouldn’t let it get to me, I just need to try harder!

mmmmm, brains. 4 months ago

Revisiting this goal is… interesting. Talk about a perspective shift. As it turns out, the job I was focusing on (license, machinery, schmoozing, capital) was the job that was slowly deconstructing my character and making me feel like a shriveled, shadowy excuse for an upright citizen… for good reason.
However, in an interesting turn of events, I’ve been noticing lately that my current jobs are perceptibly changing the way my brain works. It’s fascinating to watch- things that were impossible to keep track of last year (book covers, addresses) now stick in my head like bears to a picnic. I’m going to count this goal as having been accomplished- even though it wasn’t by design, but rather by dint of my own super-cool physiology.

This goal is too abstract to accomplish, so I’ve decided to subdivide it into a series of more concrete goals. To wit:
- Take the permit test and start working towards my license.
- Invest in some higher quality machinery.
- Stay in touch with my formal employer and angle for more hours in the summertime.
- Get friendlier with my informal employer via schmoozing during workless spells.
- Stay on top of “developments in the field” even while relatively uninvolved.
- Accrue sums of money large enough to make expansion of my one-girl-show a viable prospect.

H12 is having a grey day!

This goal is going really well. I think I have had a revelation I turn up knowing I’m going to have a good day I keep going all day with the aim of getting as much done as possible and leave at the end of the day with pretty much an empty jobs list or at the very least a plan in place to achieve those things I didn’t get done. Going to give it another couple of week before I mark this as done though just to be sure.

Getting there 10 months ago

I’m definatley getting more organised and consequently achieving lots more on a daily basis which has to be a good thing. As long as I have my trusty notebook to write absolutly everything down i’m fine but i’m not going to check this off my list yet until I am fully confident that I can keep it up.

I’ve brought back my daily check lists, which help a lot. I love checking things off as I complete them.

Also, I love going to bed on time, why do I always forget that?

time to crank it 20 months ago

So, I just started a new job last month. I love it!! But I’m afraid I’m letting myself slide at times… When I first started, I told myself I was just tired from moving into my house, then it was my back injury, then it was something else… I don’t want to be making excuses, I just want to do a good job.

Here’s what I’ve got to do:
GO TO BED EARLIER. No one wants to be the tired girl all the time. I’ve got DVR, I don’t need to stay up.
WAKE UP ON TIME. Clearly, direct connection to going to bed on time. I live two blocks away, there’s NO reason for me to be 10min late. Even if they don’t care, I do.
ESTABLISH DEADLINES. Every time Cavan gives me a project, ask for a timeline.
WRITE IT DOWN. What’s the use in getting the info if I don’t keep it?
SPEND LESS TIME ONLINE. Um…oops. But it’s so tempting when I don’t have a ton of things to do!!
