Started with Autumn Equinox & finished with Lughnasadh.
It’s been so valuable to me to make a conscious effort with this. I’ve marked the seasonal holidays before, haphazardly & mostly just on my own. Now my partner & I have a special meal & I do a lot of personal stuff too & it’s great. We endeavour to have future feasts solely from our own home grown produce or if we eat say fish, that we’ve caught it ourselves.T’is a big goal but I’d like to say that we can achieve it, sooner rather than later.
Our Lughnasadh time was quite low key, we shared a lovely wine on the 1st and had a special fresh meal on the 2nd. I’m still working through focus questions but have spent a lot of time reflecting on the current seasonal manifestations and on my year just passed.
I will continue this goal… indefinitely.

Yay!! Happy hemispheric seasonal holiday to all!!
This ends my first full cycle of consciously marking each and every seasonal interval. It’s been HIGHLY beneficial to me as I feel much more in tune with myself & the cyclical nature of being alive! We are definitely impacted by our surroundings & acknowledging this & the sacredness of the natural cycles is amazing!
Plans are still somewhat vague for the latter part of the evening but I’ve been reading about the historical & mythological significance of this time of year both from an NZ/Maori perspective & the Celtic ways (all flipped around of course…)
I have focus questions to work on, focus on mentally preparing for the months and changes ahead.
Tonight we will indulge in some organic wine & berries. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been eating cape gooseberries from my own garden but sadly my blueberries are small & not so abundant. I’ve had a few blackberries popping over the neighbours fence & we’ve planted currants for next year. I’ve also been enjoying cherry tomatoes & our moneymaker variety of tomatoes are ripening more & more each day. Our corn won’t quite be ready for Lughnasadh but that is due to our slightly late planting as a result of a death in the family & traveling away during that time. For the first time ever I am eating zucchini grown in my own garden & beans are coming in droves. Silverbeet is flourishing & beetroot & carrots are on their way. My herbs are brilliant and/or setting seeds which I’ve been collecting or letting self sow. I am sure that I missing some things…
It’s been a fabulous year for me. I’ve loved creating this world in my backyard where you see the beauty and amazingness of nature daily.

& I’m planning a get together, perhaps a pot-luck, else just a nice meal with my dearest followed by a social gathering, I’m still working it all out :D

quietly with a meal of Lemonfish which we got a GREAT bargain on. We were to have dessert but both agreed that with our side dish & fish we were full!!
I’ve contemplated greatitude & analysed some things to let go of. I’ve acknowledged my achievements this past year & thought of some new areas of focus.
It was great & now I’ve only one more feast to mark & it will have been 8 consecutive celebrations. It will be about at the same time as my 43T anniversary, wow! A whole year!

We’re marking Solstice this Sunday so it’s closer to the Full Moon also. We think we’ll have a seafood meal at this point but need to make a firmer plan.
Such a festive time! So much eating & many good times to have & to be had.
It’s a time to appreciate those who’ve helped & nurtured in the past year & to reflect on achievement & make plans for the next year.
I’m super looking forward to my 3 week holiday, it’s the longest break I’ve had in a long time & I’m lucky to kick it off in such celebratory times!

T’will be my last day in an office for the year – double celebration!!
I’m not sure what we will do as it is a wee way off but it is nice to start thinking about it & to realise the year is closing in…
I am just too busy working 60 hours/week to do anything about this. There are many celebrations in my area, but I just haven’t had the time to go.

Usually we plan a special meal for each Pagan holiday but this time around we felt somewhat uninspired & disorganised. We ended up getting a fancy pizza & having some fun at home in the spirit of the festival ;)
We did plant some corn seeds & both had nice relaxing baths as a special treat. I have a few focus questions related to the spirit of renewal to work on today too.
We’ve agreed that from as soon as possible we will endeavour to create holiday feasts entirely using food from our own garden. I think that this is a wonderful suggestion on the part of my love & I am looking forward to carrying it out :D
