I don’t know if this is exactly within my control. This is one of few goals that I feel like I am not AT ALL making progress towards. I meet new people each day and I feel like they are going to end up just like my other friends. Where are those people that are just like me?
Just because I want to keep in touch with people does not neccesary mean they want to do the same. Even facebook, from the previous person’s comment doesn’t really help. Yeah, it’s easy for people to be your friends (same with MySpace) but I mean, how often do you see the people you are friends with on those sites? How often do you go out to eat and just chill with them? That’s what I mean by keep in touch. And that’s not to put down those sites. I guess I should retitle my goal: remain friends throughout life.

So living on your own is GREAT! But it seems like a way to just “avoid” people. I’ve met quite a few people lately. I’ve definetly worked on building friendships with people from work outside of work and people in organizations, but I don’t know if these are “real” friends or just acquantences. And as I look back on last year, I think those were mostly acquanitence because those people I never see, I never talk to, never hear from. Yeah, that’s what acquantences are in my book.
