I have found a fashion/interior designer that might be the one to sort my bedroom out. My only concern now is cost. I imagine her fees alone will cost me at least a grand leaving, out of my original budget, only a grand for new furniture, fittings and dressing. Not enough I don’t think :(
It would be too easy to say forget getting a professional in to do the job but I know even if I made that money available to myself I wouldn’t get round to it. I just wouldn’t. So, I think I will have to bite the bullet and just go with someone that is more than able.
I need to get back to her and let her know my budget to see if there is actually any point in even booking in for the first phase (where she sorts my wardrobe out) and then moving on to fixing the bedroom up.
These are links I have been looking at tonight -

I need someone to come in and just deal with this on my behalf. Too much clothes not enough storage – need new wardrobes. Need new curtains and window dressing. Need to deal with the cluttered look. Need to paint chimney breast/accent wall. Need new light fittings. Need music system installed on wall (finally!!) Need rug (or carpet)?
I really need to do this now as I have been single for like forever and never needed to worry about it because no-one saw my room but I am no longer single and I really want my new beau to actually be able to set foot in there one day!
I am happy to throw a bit of money towards it – including furniture and labour I wouldn’t want to spend more than 2K.
I have a great bed-stand and mattress which will save money and stress. Just need to find someone to take on the challenge!

disigner is apparently a 'Reinventing Healthy Builder' but is actually a mess
Yeah. This is just EMBARRASSING. All this time has passed and I’ve got exactly nowhere.
BUT. I have now revamped an old wardrobe and moved it in, and it is now ready to fill with clothes I want to keep. I need to then get rid of all the clothes I’m not going to keep, and just ruthlessly throw things out.
And I wnat to get rid of all things Ikea.. well, except the bed.
So much to dooooo, so little time.
Oh, I also bought a nice picture I want to hang.

My bedroom is very small. Right now there is a single bed, next to it a double bed and next to that a cot. I would like to move my two children out into there own room.(age 2 and 9Months). then I have a unfinished very small walk in closet. How can I decorate my bedroom?

I bought a bed this week. I’ve just been using a bed frame. I got the bed at IKEA and I love it! Now I’m thinking about painting, putting up some little shelves, and maybe getting a chair for reading. But it’s going to have to wait until later this summer, since I have to save some money first!

Since my last entry about this goal, and I haven’t done much about it.
I put up the lampshade, which looks awesome, and I’m almost done with the headboard, just a few more sequins to go!
Other than that, my room was still the same dump it was 4 weeks ago – until today! I have filled not one, but TWO bin bags full of rubbish and junk I don’t need, and have done some laundry.
I need to sort through all my clothes and put them into categories of: keep for best, keep for yard, take to charity shop, put on ebay, and customise/fix/use-as-material-for-other-projects :)
I am such a hoarder. . .
Well, better get back to it! x

This has been an ongoing project for about 4 years. I keep painting, changing my mind, and re-painting. I settled on a pale lilac some time ago, and I’m sticking with that. I’m keeping my dark red curtains, and dark red bed covers. I am however getting rid of all my cheap canvas covered furniture and replacing with gorgeous if slightly battered hardwood antique armoire and drawers – which I am going to paint purple inside and line the drawers with some awesome paper (after treating all items for possible woodworm…) I also need to finish painting the floor – as it is still 2 different colours because I changed my mind half way through. I got a new chandelier lampshade, which looks a heck of a lot better than the paper chinese lantern I had, and I’m making a headboard for my bed from some scrap wood, material, and sequins – because I’m too cheap to buy a gorgeous Parisian style carved one.
All this and I still haven’t properly tidied up. Clothes everywhere.
I just want a nice room, a nice, pretty, classy bedroom. I just can’t live in the mess anymore!
