IlluminariI'm going to show my age here...
The first time I used a computer was in the 5th grade. We had these monster radio shack computers and we had to learn Pascal. In middle school we had our first home computer with a dot matrix printer. I remember when floppy disks were actually floppy.
Now my life revolves around a computer, especially at work. And it’s become the way to connect with people socially. I love to talk, but writing instead of actually talking to people is difficult for me. I read body language and facial expressions to carry a conversation. Emoticons and certain ways of expressing things when typing can help, but I find these a bit bizarre as well.
The days of sitting on the front porch and visiting seem to be over, not that I really ever had that anyway. Especially now that I don’t live anywhere near my home.
So I want to learn how to communicate better using the internet, feel more comfortable with this way of socializing, and maybe even make some friends. 4 years ago
