Yay for random invitations! 9 months ago

One of my best friends moved to go to college in another city. Her roommates invited her to a Renaissance faire so she invited me and told me to dress up with her. I never really thought about stuff like this but I figured “why not?” So I threw together a last minute gypsy costume and had so much fun. I felt like a little kid. It was great :D

Only gone to a small one, so I’d like to see what the larger more elaborate ones are like. Now that I have the outfit I want to wear it again!

    So fun! 2 years ago

I’ve been to the PA Ren Faire loads of times and it’s so fun! I think it’s best for people who aren’t shy because the actors just come up to you and bring you into skits and songs and they can sense people who don’t want to be included. Those are usually the ones they go for! The shows are great but there’s also the best shops, food and music. It’s really definitely worth the trip, at least to the one in MT. Hope PA. I wish I could go again but it’s soooooo far now. :(

these can be great fun... 2 years ago

last one I went to, I got to hold an owl, watch grown men in armour hitting each other with (admittedly blunt) swords, and had three belts made by a leather craftsman!

I grew up around them. My parents even had their own for a few years.

    It’s totally worth it.

I was having fun witnessing all the people immerse themselves in a phoney time warp until a pickle vendor splashed me with pickle brine while yelling “Huzzah!”

You see, he was “in character” so that allowed him to be an asshole. I was in character too when I punched him in the face.

This was the first time I went to the Renaissance Festival in Ohio. My friend got tickets and I used one.

I tried a turkey leg, but I don’t think I’ll ever get one again, if I go back. It’s enough for 2 people to share. Plus it’s pretty messy.

    Very Fun! 3 years ago

Definitely worth doing! I had a lot of fun! _
