learn to draw caricatures

This weekend, I saw this guy on the street drawing caricatures. Watching others is a great way to learn techniques. This inspired me to try drawing some of my own.

This weekend, I bought a book on drawing Caricatures. The trick is to be able to draw others without insulting. Unless, that is the intent, i.e, Political figures. These are the kind you see in the newspapers.

I draw portraits all the time, I can make something look very realistic, but when it comes to caricatures and cartoons i just can’t make it look good.

And so I’ve got to learn how to do it in order to teach it.

i can draw realistic potraits like nobody’s business, but i wanna learn to draw caricatures. you know, with those big stupid faces and over-exaggerated features. this is a caricature i did of my little cousin. there’s some likeliness but i’ve seen guys draw them and you can see the resemblence in a split second.
